Meet Dr. Morgan Zwickel
DMD, MS
Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, Dr. Zwickel moved to Lexington, KY to attend the University of Kentucky and later the LECOM School of Dental Medicine in Bradenton, Florida. While in dental school, Dr. Zwickel met her husband, Dr. Joe Zwickel, a fellow dentist. Dr. Zwickel then was selected into the highly competitive Masters Program in Orthodontics at the Seton Hill University Center for Orthodontics in Greensburg, PA. As a fourth generation oral healthcare provider Dr. Morgan Zwickel is carrying on her family’s dental legacy. She is most inspired by her grandfather and father, both dentists, to help people achieve healthy, beautiful smiles.
Dr. Morgan M. Zwickel is one of the only orthodontic specialists in the Destin-Fort Walton Beach area to achieve Board Certification from the American Board of Orthodontics. In order to achieve such a distinguished designation, the doctor must have completed a 3 year orthodontic residency post dental school graduation and pass rigorous testing by the American Board of Orthodontics. Dr. Zwickel is passionate about providing cutting edge technology and excellent orthodontic care. She believes that quality care means treating the whole face to achieve ideal final outcomes. To her, a patient’s smile comprises more than just straight teeth. Her treatment philosophy includes analyzing patients’ facial features including the lips, gums, and teeth. Dr. Zwickel’s loves the field of orthodontics because it combines her interests in health, aesthetics and passion for working with kids.

When she is not creating beautiful smiles, Dr. Zwickel loves traveling, visiting the fabulous local beaches, boating, biking, and enjoying all the Emerald Coast has to offer with her husband, Dr. Joe Zwickel, DMD. Due to its dedicated military families, Dr. Zwickel finds that the Fort Walton Beach community, above all places she has lived and worked, makes her feel most welcome. She looks forward to meeting all the families in this wonderful community!

Influenced by her long family legacy in family dentistry, she’s motivated to use her skills and expertise to help both children and adults thrive with beautiful smiles. During clinical training, Dr. Zwickel completed an additional residency in Invisalign clear aligner therapy and is focused on providing a convenient, digital-forward experience for her patients.
Meet Dr. Joseph Zwickel
Dr. Joseph Zwickel’s journey in dentistry began in his hometown of Kansas City, Kansas. After earning his Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from the University of Kansas, he went on to receive his Doctorate in Dental Medicine from the LECOM School of Dental Medicine — where he also met his future wife and business partner, Dr. Morgan Zwickel.
Following dental school, Dr. Joe completed a General Practice Residency at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown, Ohio, where he gained hands-on experience in all aspects of dental care and discovered his passion for creating confident smiles. He continues to expand his knowledge through ongoing education in the field of orthodontics, ensuring his patients benefit from the latest advancements in treatment and technology.
As a certified Invisalign provider and proud member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Dr. Joe is dedicated to delivering comfortable, high-quality care tailored to each patient’s unique needs. His friendly approach, attention to detail, and commitment to lifelong learning make him a trusted and valued part of the Sandy Smiles Orthodontics team.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Dr. Joe is an enthusiastic outdoorsman, finding joy in activities such as fishing, mountain biking, and boating. Together with his wife, Dr. Morgan Zwickel, he frequently adventures along the Emerald Coast, enjoying all it has to offer.
